Step 1: Inquiry and Getting to Know Your Vision
The first step is simply starting a conversation.
After you inquire, we’ll schedule a call where we can talk about your story, your plans, and what led you to choose an intimate wedding in Norway. I want to understand what matters most to you, what kind of experience you are hoping to create, and what you envision for your day.
During our call, I’ll also explain my approach, what is included in my packages, and how I support couples throughout the process. While I’m not a full-service wedding planner, I believe your photographer should understand the entire experience you are creating.
That means helping you think through locations, accommodations, vendors, and practical details that can feel unfamiliar when planning from another country, from ferry routes and road systems to recommendations based on my experience living in Norway.
Once we’ve talked through your plans and I understand what you’re looking for, I’ll share the package options and pricing that best fit your experience. My goal is not just to make sure you understand what is included, but also to make sure we are the right fit for each other.
Many couples reach out before they have everything decided, and that is completely okay. The inquiry process is not about having every answer already, it’s about starting with your vision and figuring out the details together.
Step 2: Choosing Your Norway Elopement Location
Once you book, I’ll send you my elopement guide and a questionnaire to learn more about you.
I want to understand what matters most to you and what kind of experience you want to create together. Some of those questions will include details like:
- Do you want a quiet and private location?
- Are you dreaming of fjords, mountains, or the coastline?
- How much hiking feels comfortable, if any?
- What kind of atmosphere do you want your day to have?

Choosing your location is about more than finding a beautiful view. The landscape you choose will shape the rhythm of your day, from how you travel there, to how much time you spend exploring, to the feeling you have when you finally arrive. A dramatic viewpoint might be perfect for one couple, while another couple might feel more connected to a quiet coastline, a mountain valley, or a place that naturally allows for a slower pace and flow.
Some areas also require different logistics, travel times, or budgets depending on the season. For example, popular destinations like the Lofoten Islands can have higher accommodation costs, especially during busy periods.
My goal is not just to send you a list of beautiful places. It is to help you find a location that feels right for your experience, your budget, and the way you want to spend your day.
Many of the places I recommend are locations I have personally visited and saved because I know they can create a meaningful experience for the right couple. Sometimes the location that looks the most impressive online is not actually the best fit once you consider accessibility, crowds, travel time, and the overall feeling you want for your elopement.
Step 3: Vendor Recommendations and Planning Support
Once we have a better idea of your location, I can also help you with recommendations for any other vendors that make up your elopement team.
Depending on what you need, this can include:
- Officiants
- Hair and makeup artists
- Florists
- Accommodations
- Other local vendors
I never send couples a generic list of vendors and ask them to figure it out from there.
Instead, I first take the time to understand your style, priorities, and what you are looking for. From there, I can recommend professionals who are a good match for your vision.
For example, I wouldn’t recommend a florist simply because they are well known. I want to make sure their floral style, approach, and overall work align with the atmosphere you’re hoping to create. The same applies to every vendor I recommend. The goal is to help you build a team that feels cohesive and fits the kind of elopement you’re creating.
Because I live in Norway and have spent years exploring different regions, I can also help you discover local options and vendors that may be difficult to find when planning from another country.
Step 4: Creating Your Elopement Timeline
A few months before your elopement, we’ll start building your timeline.
I’ll send you a questionnaire to understand how you want your day to unfold, from getting ready in the morning to your ceremony, activities, meals, and quiet moments together. I ask these questions because your timeline should be created around your priorities, not a standard wedding format.
Your timeline is also not about filling every minute. It is about creating enough space for the moments that matter most to you and your partner. Maybe that means taking your time with your morning coffee or including buffer time to make stops at beautiful places along the way to your ceremony.
I never want your timeline to feel overly rigid or prescriptive, which is why my approach to documenting your day is rooted in storytelling. I focus not only on the big moments, but also on the movement, atmosphere, and small details that shape the experience around them.
Step 5: Your Norway Elopement Day
When your elopement day arrives, I’m not just showing up with a camera. We’ve already spent time planning together, discussing your ideas, and creating a day that reflects what matters most to you.
My approach is rooted in cinematic storytelling. Not through staged or overly directed moments, but through noticing and documenting the atmosphere, movement, light, weather, and the small moments that naturally unfold throughout the day.
My role is to guide you when you need it, whether that means helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera, offering direction during portraits, or making sure we stay connected to the timeline we created together. At the same time, I leave space for the moments that cannot be planned: the quiet conversation while you’re getting ready, the way the landscape changes as you travel to your ceremony, the anticipation before you exchange your vows, or the small reactions you may not even notice in the moment.
Those moments become the pieces that tell the full story of your elopement: creating photographs that capture not only what your day looked like, but what it felt like to be there. My goal is to create images that feel timeless, so years from now you can return to them and remember the atmosphere, emotions, and memories of your Norway elopement.
Step 6: Reliving Your Experience Through Your Gallery
After your elopement, I’ll send a small preview gallery within 72 hours so you have a few memories to enjoy or share if you choose.
Your full gallery will be delivered approximately one to one and a half months after your wedding through a private online gallery.
My hope is that when you return to your images years later, you remember more than the scenery. You remember the feeling of that day, the places you explored, and the moments you shared together.

How far in advance should we book our Norway elopement photographer?

If you are considering a popular destination like the Lofoten Islands or another highly visited area, I recommend starting the process as early as possible. Because many areas of Norway have limited accommodation options, the best places to stay can book quickly, especially during the busiest seasons.

Yes, international couples can legally get married in Norway, but the process requires specific paperwork and planning before your wedding day. Because of this, many couples choose to complete the legal marriage process in their home country and have a symbolic ceremony in Norway instead, which allows them to focus on the experience without additional administrative stress.

Are there any additional fees, or will the price change after booking?
The price shared during your inquiry and consultation includes my photography coverage, planning support, travel expenses, and taxes, so there are no unexpected fees added later.
If you decide you would like to add additional coverage hours after booking, we can discuss those options together and adjust your package accordingly. Any changes will always be communicated clearly before anything is finalized. Please note that while additional hours can be added if needed, reducing the hours included in your package after booking is not possible.

What happens if we need to change our location or date after booking?
I understand that sometimes plans need to change, and I always try to find a solution together with my couples whenever possible.
If you need to adjust your location, we can discuss the best option based on your new plans. If your package includes travel throughout Norway, changing regions is usually possible.

When do we create our elopement timeline?
Your timeline is created closer to your elopement date, usually around one to three months before your wedding day.
Before creating it, I’ll send a timeline questionnaire to understand any updates, changes, or new ideas you have. This allows us to create a day that feels natural and intentional rather than simply following a schedule.
