Elopement in Haugesund, Norway
A civil wedding at the town hall of Haugesund
I met Nithtayyea and Christoffer for their elopement in Haugesund, Norway. She is Canadian and he is Norwegian, they met in Norway during their studies. Since then, they have not left and have been living in Haugesund for a few years. It’s therefore quite natural that they wanted to celebrate their elopement in the city where they settled.
They chose to have a simple wedding on a small committee, just with their witnesses. I joined them at Rådhuset in Haugesund for their ceremony. It was my first time at a town hall in Norway and I was so impressed by its beauty. There were pretty paintings and very warm decorations.
It was still quite cold that day in the streets of Haugesund, so we decided to take some pictures inside before going outside.
A photoshoot in the town hall and Smedasundet
After the ceremony, we took advantage of an available room to take some images of the couple and images with the witnesses. Nithtayyea and Christoffer are reserved by nature but they were able to be very comfortable in front of the lens although they had never done a couple photoshoot before. They wanted natural and soft images. I took advantage of the magnificent light when the sun’s rays reached us to create images that were a little more structured but still very natural. Nithtayyea’s dress also lent itself very well to it, a wedding dress that combines timelessness and personality.
Besides, if you like this style of wedding dress, you can have a look at this brand.
Then, we headed outside to get some cute footage of the couple on the docks at Smedasundet. We were also able to see the roof of their house ended up going to the foot of their house. Finally, we took advantage of the rays of the sun to have a walk in the streets of Haugesund.
